How does it work?
The Yeast in Biosprint Farm Mix consumes rumen oxygen and creates an environment that promotes the growth of rumen flora. The yeast also produces enzymes that help improve rumen fermentation.
Trials with Biosprint Farm Mix have shown a decrease in the production of lactic acid in the rumen with a stabilised rumen pH leading to less acidosis.
Animals fed on Biosprint Farm Mix may have higher dry matter intakes and there is an increase in the production of rumen bacteria which leads to an increase in microbial protein passing through the rumen. It has also been shown that the yeast in Biosprint Farm Mix can increase the production of free fatty acids and reduce ammonia production within the rumen.
The data submitted to the EU for the registration of Biosprint demonstrated increases in milk yield of up to 2 litres per day and increased protein yield when fed at the recommended rates.
