MULTIMIX ORIGINAL
17% Oil, 23% protein,  0% fibre
A top of the range skimmed milk based product, ideal to promote early bloom and a healthy looking calf. This product is suited for many systems but particularly those selling stock at a young age and those requiring something special from their young stock. Multimix original uses selected skimmed milk powder from low/medium temperature dried sources.
Multimix Original is designed for once or twice daily bucket feeding systems.

MULTIMIX SUPREME
17% Oil, 23% protein, 0.04% fibre
A high fat calf milk replacer that reconstitutes easily and provides fast, cost effective growth.
Multimix Supreme is designed for bucket feeding and may be used in machines. For machines which need a free flowing powder a version of this product is available to order.

Key features of both Multimix Original and Multimix Supreme:

  • Protimax® Egg powder, rich in specific proteins to help calves meet the challenges of early life.
  • Activated Beta-Glucans to support the optimal functioning of the immune system
  • Natural digestibility enhancers to improve fat utilisation and absorption
  • Unique “mother smell” encourages the calf to consume milk and promotes maturation of the digestive system.
  • Acidified to ensure freshness for up to 24 hours.
  • Full supplementation of vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

COLOSTRUM
It is essential that all calves receive adequate quantities of colostrum within 3 to 6 hours of birth. Milk feeding of purchased calves should commence after a rest period of approximately 6 hours after arrival.

MIXING RATES
For twice daily feeding systems, mix with water at the rate of 125 g of powder to make 1 litre of mixed milk replacer; i.e. add 0.5 kg powder to 3.5 litres of water to make 4 litres of mixed milk replacer.
For once daily feeding systems see feed chart below.
For machine feeding systems, follow the machine manufacturer’s recommendations or contact your specialist.

TO MIX
1. Sprinkle a measured amount of powder into a bucket of warm water (42º).
2. Whisk briskly.
3. Add hot or cold water to obtain the amount required at the correct concentration to achieve a feeding temperature of 42ºC.

The feeding schedule above is an approximate guide for feeding calves up to weaning at 6 weeks. If a later weaning age is required extend the maximum volume feeding period accordingly. The above table assumes a birth weight of approximately 40 kilograms.  Calves of a lighter live-weight should be fed less in accordance with their size e.g. a 30kg calf should receive 75% of the recommended amounts shown and achieving a maximum of 2 litres per feed when appropriate.

Roughage in the form of good quality barley straw or hay should be available after 3-4 days.
Fresh clean water should be available at all times.
Wean once calves are 6-8 weeks of age and eating 1kg of concentrate daily for 2 consecutive days.
